Donate Your Old Formal Dresses to Branches!
Branches Domestic Violence Shelter believes every young woman deserves to feel beautiful at homecoming and feel safe every other night of the year, too. That's why Branches is collecting formal wear and accessories for the third semi-annual Dresses for Domestic Peace Sale.
Branches Domestic Violence Shelter is partnering with True Blue Salon to host a Homecoming Dress Drive on Sunday, June 17. The drive is an exciting opportunity for Branches to make a difference in the lives of local high school students as well as raise money for operating costs for Branches Domestic Violence Shelter & Branches’ Safe Dates Program.
Branches’ mission is to resell the donated new and used formal wear to high school students who are looking for a bargain or who may otherwise not be able to afford to attend their homecoming. Dresses will be sold later this fall, at a fraction of the retail price, with 100% of proceeds going to Branches.
“These days everyone’s looking for new ways to save money and go green. This fundraiser helps people in our community do both of those things while supporting a great cause! Last spring we had over 300 dresses for sale and we hope to collect even more this summer for our fall sale” says Amanda Weiss-McComas, Branches Development & Shelter Coordinator.
You can help! Drop off new or like new formal wear and accessories at the True Blue Salon, at the East Gate Shopping Center, 3677 Rt. 60 East, Barboursville, WV (behind Outback Steakhouse) on Sunday, June 17 from 1pm-4pm. Dresses donated should be clean and on hangers. All donations are tax deductable. For more information, contact Branches Domestic Violence Shelter at 304-529-2382.
